About this policy
Edible Blooms Pty Ltd trading as Gift Basket ("we", "us", "our"), respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and - for customers in New Zealand - the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ). By using our website or placing an order, you agree to this policy.
The personal information we collect
- Contact and delivery details: your name, and the recipient's name, delivery address, email and phone number.
- Order and payment details: billing address, order history and payment confirmation. We do not store full card numbers - payments are processed securely by our payment providers.
- Account and loyalty details: username, password and preferences.
- Gift messages and your communications with us.
- Technical and usage data: device, browser, IP address and site activity, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
We collect this directly from you, automatically as you use our site, and sometimes from service providers acting on our behalf.
Why we collect it
To take and fulfil your orders, arrange delivery, process payments, manage your account and loyalty program, provide customer support, prevent fraud, meet our legal obligations, and - where you've consented or where the law permits - to send you marketing about our products.
Marketing and how to opt out
As an active member on our subscription database, your consent allows us to send you news and offers by email and SMS. You can opt out any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by replying STOP to our SMS. We handle electronic marketing in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed with: our platform provider Shopify; payment processors; delivery and courier partners; email/SMS, analytics and advertising providers; IT and customer-support providers; and our related brands within our group. We require them to protect your information. We may also disclose information where required by law.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our system providers store or process data outside Australia. Based on our current providers, your information may be disclosed to recipients in the USA, Canada and Ireland/EU. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting our Privacy Officer (details below). We'll respond within a reasonable time. There's no charge to ask.
Making a complaint
If you think we've mishandled your personal information, contact our Privacy Officer. Please put your complaint in writing; we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992. New Zealand customers can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
